Explore towering granite peaks, natural rock arches, and ancient rock art, then spend the night under one of the clearest skies in Namibia.

Discover Spitzkoppe

Spitzkoppe is a group of dramatic granite peaks rising from the flat Namib plains in the Erongo region, often called the Matterhorn of Namibia. The highest peak reaches around 1,700 metres, glowing red and orange at sunrise and sunset.

Walk among smooth boulders and natural rock arches, see ancient San rock paintings with a local guide, hike and scramble, or simply enjoy the silence and the spectacular night sky.

Spitzkoppe is an easy addition to a Namibia journey, around two hours from Swakopmund, and we can help you plan it around your interests, travel style, and budget.
